Arlina Yazzie has worked in the realm of suicide prevention for Montezuma County for the past several years and recently accepted a role in promoting leadership development with a focus on health equity.
Arlina has a BS in Business Marketing Management from Western Governor’s University and will be completing her MA in Public Administration through Adams State University in May, 2023. Her career path is oriented in non-profit and government work focusing on health equity.
Elected to the Cortez City Council in 2020, Arlina has been on Council and working in county government for over two years. Prior to this she served on local non-profit boards. Her primary goal for Cortez is to help earn and foster public trust while promoting equitable policy.
When time permits, Arlina will be out on the trails or county roads cycling, her favorite pastime. Additionally, she likes to dabble in art of any medium.
