The City of Cortez will have TWO Clean-up Weeks in 2024: May 20-24 and October 21-25.
Curbside pickup only. No drop-off day.
Use your polycart for household trash.
Leave it in the usual location for trash pick-up.
Put loose items in a throw-away container.
Bag it or Box it.
Do not put any container out that you don’t want thrown away.
Yard waste must be bagged. Cut branches into 4’ lengths and tied together in a bundle.
Contractor waste will not be picked up.
Please put your trash at the curb (not in the front yard or the alley).
NO TIRES: Tires will not be picked up. Contact Big-O, 4-States, or Wal-Mart for tire disposal.
NO CHIPPER SERVICE: The City will pick up branches curbside. Branches must be cut no longer than 4’ and bundled together for pickup.
NO ELECTRONICS (E-WASTE): E-waste can be taken to the Montezuma County Landfill. Call 970-565-9858 for pricing.
ADDITIONAL ITEMS THAT WILL NOT BE PICKED UP: Air Conditioners, Appliances with Freon Asbestos Barrels with Liquid Batteries Chemicals Freezers Hazardous Waste Oil Paint Refrigerators Un-bagged Yard Waste
*Any elderly or disabled City residents who are in need of assistance getting items out to the curb for pick-up can contact the City Service Center at 970-565-7320 the week before pick-up to be put on our list.
