[ARCHIVED] 2024 Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) for Calendar Year 2023

The City’s Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) for Calendar Year 2023 is now available on line.  It is being inserted in the June 2024 water bills to all City customers.

In 2004, the City passed Ordinance No. 1013, which permanently banned irrigation watering between the hours of 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM and is enforced from May 15th through September 15th every year.  In addition to the existing water restrictions, the Cortez City Council endorsed voluntary water restrictions at their regular meeting on May 27, 2021.  These voluntary restrictions are shown below.

 1.   Watering restrictions will be enforced between April 1st and October 31st every year.

2.   Watering of yards and gardens will not be allowed between the hours of 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

3.  Watering days are designated by address: properties having an even street address may water on even calendar days and properties having an odd street address may water on odd calendar days.  On the 31st day of months that have 31 days, no watering will be allowed.

The City discourages water-wasting activities such as allowing water to escape from premises onto public property and washing vehicles, structures, driveways, sidewalks, parking areas, or other impervious surface areas with an open hose.  Operating a permanently-installed irrigation system with a broken head or emitter and failing to repair a controllable leak, including a broken sprinkler head, a leaking valve, supply line, or pipe is also discouraged.
