Mayor Medina reaches her goal in Civic Leadership! Recognized with the CML MUNIversity’s honor, Mayor Rachel Medina earns the Graduate Level Achievement Award for her dedication to municipal leadership and learning.
Ms. Rachel Medina, Mayor of the City of Cortez, has been presented an Achievement Award from the Colorado Municipal League, CML, MUNIversity in recognition of reaching the Graduate Level, the highest level of the program, earning 100 credits.
The Colorado Municipal League is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that represents the interest of 271 cities and towns. CML provides services and resources to assist municipal officials in managing their governments and serving the cities and towns of Colorado. CML believes that those elected municipal officials investing time and resources to participate in educational events, in an effort to increase their knowledge of municipal government and enhance their capacity to lead, should be recognized. For this reason the CML Executive Board created an Elected Officials Leadership Training Program, now known as CML MUNIversity. Through this program each training event is assigned a specific credit value based on the length of the training. Mayor Medina has completed numerous training programs to better serve our community.
Congratulations to Mayor Medina on receiving this prestigious award. We are appreciative of her continued commitment to the City of Cortez.
