The City of Cortez has launched its recruitment for a new Airport Director to lead the Cortez Municipal Airport (CEZ) during a period of major infrastructure investment and long-term modernization.
The City of Cortez is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Airport Director at the Cortez Municipal Airport (CEZ). This role offers an opportunity to guide a growing regional airport in one of the most scenic areas of Southwest Colorado.
The Airport Director is responsible for the administration, supervision, and daily operations of the airport and will also continue oversight of the airport’s $8.6 million rehabilitation project, which is scheduled for completion this spring. This project includes runway resurfacing, upgraded lighting systems, and other major infrastructure improvements that will support long term airport operations.
Cortez Municipal Airport provides commercial air service through Denver Air Connection, offering flights to Denver, Colorado and Phoenix, Arizona. These routes connect Cortez residents, businesses, and visitors to major travel hubs while supporting tourism and economic development. The airport also serves general aviation, emergency services, and travelers accessing Mesa Verde National Park and the Four Corners region.
