2023 Cedar Street Improvement Project: Notice to Residents
The Cedar Street Improvement Project will be starting the week of June 19, 2023. Candelaria Construction, Inc. was awarded the project.
Candelaria Construction will start with mobilization and staging area set up. The staging area will be in the City right-of-way (ROW) on the South Baker Avenue easement, and several lots on Chisholm Place (approved by owner Maxwell Development), which are east of Cedar Street.
The project will be ongoing from June through October 2023; all residents in the area will be affected in some manner. The project consists of road reconstruction, a new sewer system, and new water lines. There will be days where road closures will be set up; residents may have to use Jarrett Avenue or Verde Vu Drive for access. When you see “Road Closed” signs – it means the road is closed completely. When you see “Road Closed to Thru Traffic” – it means that residents will still have access to their homes. We will keep you updated as best we can.
Candelaria Construction will start work on the street June 27, 2023. They will be milling the asphalt on Cedar Street and the work zone will be moving. Traffic may have to wait a few minutes to pass by, or choose to go around. Signs and traffic control will be set up.
The next operation will be the sewer replacement starting near Detroit Avenue, then moving north. You will receive notices or be contacted when the work is near your residence. Waterline replacement comes next, areas of new concrete, and last will be placement of the new asphalt.
Additional notifications and updates during the progression of the project will be delivered.
