Robert Dobry – Councilmember
Robert Dobry was born in Maryland but was lucky to spend time in the Southwest growing up. He lives in Cortez with his wife, Abigail, and their dogs, cat and rabbit.
After studying philosophy and earning a BA at St. Johns College in Annapolis, MD, Robert worked in university and nonprofit business development. At KSJD Community Radio he develops and produces projects to benefit our community, including local news and audio projects like the Historic Montezuma Avenue and Mesa Verde Voices podcasts.
Robert was elected to Cortez City Council in 2022. His goal for Cortez is a responsible, stable financial footing to prepare Cortez for whatever comes in the future. His experience on the Dolores Planning and Zoning Commission, as a Trustee for the Town of Dolores, and the Treasurer of the Montezuma County Hospital District will prove to be great experience to help get us there.
Spending as much time as possible outdoors biking, hiking, kayaking and fishing are the activities Robert enjoys most.
