Bill Lewis has lived in Montezuma County for 42 years, 8 of those in City of Cortez. Starting out as an Ag teacher in Dolores, he went back to Colorado State University Graduate School where he taught and received his Masters degree in College Administration. He then was hired as Assistant Director of San Juan Basin Technical School and became president of San Juan Basin Technical College shortly after. Retiring from college administration in Colorado Bill served as Dean at San Juan College in Farmington NM. He retired after serving 36 years in high school education and college administration.
Bill has served on numerous boards such as Four Corners Child Advocacy Center, Four Corners Economic Development, Region 9 Economic Development, Four States Ag Expo, Colorado Fire Fighters Academy, Colorado Symposium on Emergency Care, and Cortez Men’s Golf Association to name a few.
His interests are enjoying the outdoors, skiing and playing golf.
Bill is honored to be serving on City Council where he has the desire to continue serving his community and utilizing his expertise for the betterment of the Cortez.
